The Last Exit For The Lost Apocalyptic Underground Radio

We had a couple more special guests, voices from the past who had been unable to make it in June, our month long celebration of our Twentieth Anniversary, which had concluded last week. This night, Shoebox, he of his one man comedy band, Worm Quartet, and, Deron Levine, a semi regular co-host from about sixteen years ago, were here. Also present were, Just Joe, Tim, and, Rick, from "The Metallic Onslaught", where Shoebox had been quite a regular co-host for a while. Clips from Best Of CD's were played throughout Shoebox's and Deron's times on LE. Azkath wanted Shoebox to repeat what had happened in one of those clips, and beat up Just Joe. Shoebox was a bit hesitant, as he had been back in the day, when he had been supposed to beat up Zoltan. It is hard to get him to beat up people, for some reason, but he finally went and did it. He had to go into the other room, where Just Joe was in a booth, to do it, and we got to listen, but Just Joe seemed to be pretty much ok. Deron got to pick a set of music, and we had several segments of something we haven't done in quite a while, Adventures In Listening, where we play something no one has ever heard before. This time, they were all bands with really weird names and song titles, like The Leather Nun, and The Hostile Omish, with a song entitled "Who Put The Sea Monkeys In Mom's Douche?". And a band of mimes. Everyone was betting that these bands, and others would be really horrible, and they were right, although everyone did kinda like the Sea Monkeys song, it was so bad it was good. Azkath had something for Just Joe from one of last weeks returning co-hosts, who couldn't be there tonight, he had told Azkath to punch Just Joe a few times, the way EVD had always done when he was there. As my birthday had been in the past week, everyone sang "Happy Birthday To You" to me, Just Joe screeched it as only he can do, and Shoebox added some unique lyrics to it, which I'm pretty sure I have never heard in that song before. It was truly moving and beautiful! Thanks, guys! Azkath also played two short birthday songs for me, my favorite ones, as there hadn't really been room for them last week, with first a band performing, and then our playing mostly all music from the many, many bands who have graced us with their presence over the past twenty years. Some songs went out to one of our regular listeners, John The Drummer, as his Birthday had just concluded less than eighteen hours ago, Happy Birthday, John! The final hour saw the return of The Old School Hour, which had been on hiatus for a month, as we celebrated our Twentieth Anniversary, playing, again, mostly music from the numerous awesome bands who have been on, or somehow connected to, LE over that time...

The first couple of hours were pre-recorded, as everyone was attending a concert that The Last Exit For The Lost was partially responsible for.  The band Inviolate, who had performed on that show, came back with them and were there for a couple hours. They were interviewed, songs from their CD were played, and they played some songs live and acoustic. They are very cool. Also present were, Just Joe and, James. There were a couple segments of Movie Time, TV and wrestling were discussed as well. The last hour was The Old School Hour...

James and Eric were there. And Just Joe finally returned after having been gone for five weeks. They asked Just Joe where he had been so long, saying that the last time they had seen him was at The Metallic Onslaught, on No Pants Day, where Randy's alter ego, Mandy, had gotten very friendly with him. At that memory, Just Joe began to cry hysterically, and to try to hide. Well, who can blame him!? Mandy was the ugliest woman on the planet, and Just Joe had gotten very familiar with her. They couldn't get Just Joe to say where he had been, probably recovering from that trauma, however one might do that, if it even can be done, which, obviously it couldn't, as Just Joe is still a mess every time it gets mentioned. After he viewed two creepy short films, Just Joe started saying he was being followed by shadows. There were segments of Movie Time, Just Joe hadn't seen too many movies, considering how long he had been gone, so that wasn't how he was recovering, and TV was discussed as well. The last hour was The Old School Hour. Last week, Azkath had played a set of music in tribute to H.R. Geiger, who had died that week, a song from each band or artist he had done the art work for their album cover. This week, he played one more song for him, as he had not been able to find this song last week for the tribute. It was Memorial Day weekend, so the program opened with a set of songs about veterans, or war, another set of songs about war was played later in the night, and the final song of the night was Bathory's "For Those Who Died"...

Present were James and Eric. At 2:00, H3, of the band Heretics In The Lab skyped in for an extended interview. He is a one person industrial metal band. Three of his songs were played in and around the interview. His band rocks. He is on Facebook and YouTube with videos, and he has his own website, www.hereticsinthelab.com There was a set of music played in tribute to H.R. Gieger, who had died earlier in the week, he did the art work for many heavy metal musician's, and band's albums. Also, there was lots of Dio's music played all throughout the night, as it was the anniversary of his death. Topics were discussed like wrestling. And, we got to hear how Eric had to crawl through human waste, some of it his own, and how he was covered in it, and how it was flying at him at high speed, because a main sewer line broke at his trailer, and he had to fix it, without goggles, because he couldn't see in them, so he took them off, or any other proper equipment. That was lovely to hear! Thanks for sharing, Eric! There were segments of Movie Time, with some TV discussed as well. The last hour was The Old School Hour, and it contained three Dio songs, for the above mentioned reason...
