March 26, 2017 - Justin's Birthday and Undead Messengers Live in Studio

0326170423.jpgUndead Messengers from Corning, NY, return to play live with their most recent line up. It was also Justin's birthday. We played some cool music for him, and celebrated his birthday Last Exit style... Toni from RADII came by, and brought some more Magnetic Eye Records stuff for us to play... Oh and at the end of the night, Peter from the Salt Creek Show came in and reminded us it was National Joe Day. Um. We forgot. Just Joe was NOT happy. He almost always misses National Joe Day, but he was there, and we forgot about it. He blamed Justin for having his birthday celebration on the same weekend and swore revenge...

January 22, 2017 - Nathan Makes It Up to Joe...

LEPresent were, EVD, Just Joe (who has now been here a record breaking THREE weeks in a row, despite the fact that he insists he's been here every week), Nathan, Justin, a.k.a. Twelve Inch, who is reclaiming his role from Bi-Coastal Tim, Kevin, Eric, and, Olivia and Tim from the band Undead Messengers. Undead messengers brought us a brand new song of theirs's, which was played. It rocked. Nathan now has this Teenage Werewolf look going on, with a man bob. Last week, Nathan had gone off promising to get Just Joe a sandwich, and had never come back, taking Just Joe's stuff and leaving poor Just Joe hungry and sandwich less. And Just Joe takes his sandwiches very seriously, so this was a big deal for him, it set him back for the entire week. Nathan claimed he had fallen asleep, but that's not nearly a good enough excuse! So, as revenge for this misdeed, Nathan got stabbed repeatedly with forks by Just Joe, and almost everyone else there. By the time it was over, Nathan was leaking a lot of fluids from all over his body. That'll teach him not to forget something as important as a sandwich ever again. Nathan did however help Just Joe fix his car this night. He snaked a computer cable all up in Just Joe's under carriage, so, between that, and the forking, I guess they're now even. Azkath played a set of songs that all had something in common, and had everyone there try to guess what that was. No one did. It was the subject matter, they were all about how stupid it is to blame music for people committing suicide. Azkath played a track from Def Leopard's Pyromania, as this week marked the thirty fourth Anniversary of it's release, he played a live version of "Rock Rock 'Til You Drop". Just Joe and Nathan found something in the basement. They discovered James down there. Now, we haven't seen James in a long time, and this explains that. Apparently, we started a game of Hide And Go Beat with him... And then forgot to look for him, he's been locked down there for close to a year now. Because Just Joe and Nathan found him this night, they gave him the beat down. He didn't put up much resistance. He now has a long beard, and doesn't smell very pleasant. They left him locked in there. Azkath pointed out that you might say James has become hermit like, living in a cave, and that hermits have been known to possess wisdom, had they tried to get him to impart any wisdom? They said that he hadn't had anything useful to impart, but added they hadn't asked him until after giving him the beat down, perhaps if they had done it beforehand, he might have had something more wise to say. There were segments of Movie Time, some TV programs were discussed as well...

December 11, 2016 - The Good Left Undone Live

The Good Left Undone

Present were, EVD, Nathan, Justin, Kevin, Rick from "The Metallic Onslaught", and, R.J.. It was a Tornado Tag Team Show, which meant that, for much Of The Night, sets would consist of a song pick from the people present. Everyone there got several picks, including mine. The band The Good Left Undone, which has a former member of Undead Messengers in it, stopped by. They were going to play five songs, all the songs they have so far, live in The Performance Room, but they broke their snare drum after the first song! They did manage to get two more songs out, but then decided they needed to stop. It sounded great until they had to quit, though. They are a cool band, and Nathan did a great job running the sound as usual. They don't have any of their music recorded yet, they will soon, so nothing from them could be played that way, either. They do rock. Rick and R.J. told us how "The Metallic Onslaught Big Birthday Bash Show", which they had just come from, had gone. It went very well. EVD got a creepy Back rub from R.J.. As we are two weeks from Christmas, throughout the night, sets of Christmas music were played, Christmas metal, and, comedy songs. toward the end of the night, some sets of good rock metal songs were played, bands like old Tesla, Dirty Looks, Badlands, and Dokken. There were segments of Movie Time, Nathan talked about a video game, and Azkath talked about a couple of books as well...

September 25, 2016 - Code 10-56 Live in Studio

Code 10-56

Present were, EVD, Nathan, Kevin, Anna, and Daryl, Olivia and Tim from the band Undead Messengers. The band Code 10-56 was there in the first part of the program. They played a long set of songs in The Performance Room. It sounded great, again, props to Nathan for running the sound. They are a cool punk band. After their performance, they were interviewed, updating us on what they have been, and will be, up to. The only two tracks they have recorded at the moment were played. They rock, you can find them on Facebook. And, Happy Birthday to one of their members, who's Birthday it was this day. We revisited musically the year 2002. And, there was a reason for that... September 22nd, of that year, is my 14th year Anniversary of joining LE. 14 years! It feels like just yesterday, and, at the same time, it also feels like a long time ago. But, I'm glad to be a part of it, and it was great to hear the music that was playing when I first got here again, brought back a lot of good memories. Azkath played a couple of country sounding songs for EVD, with banjos, because we all know how much EVD LOVES "The Salt Creek Show", which follows LE. I'm surprised he hasn't tried to join that program, he is such a huge fan of the music they play! There were segments of Movie Time...

July 24, 2016 - The Non-Existent Band

LEPresent were, EVD, Nathan, Becka, Bi-Coastal Tim, Tim and Olivia, from the band Undead Messengers, and a band. Oh, wait... There was no band, but Nathan thought that there was going to be, so he got The Performance Room all set up with new equipment that he had acquired, and was very proud of, even getting there two whole hours early, which he never does, only, he was totally mistaken in thinking that there was going to be a band there this night (except for the members of Undead Messengers, of course, but, they weren't there to perform). Poor Nathan's brain must be damaged from attending, first Furry Fest, and then, the next week, Bronie Con. I mean, that can really mess someone up. So poor Nathan had to spend a good portion of the night dismantling everything he had taken all that time to set up for no reason. Instead of spotlighting, musically, just one year this night, for one night only, The Wheel Of Doom was marked with years, people took turns spinning it, and the year it landed on, a set of music was played from that year. So, the years 1991, 1994, 1989, and, the decade of the 1970's were spotlighted, the 1970's was done as a whole decade, because there wasn't enough metal back then to do every year. Azkath played about five minutes of an interview he had conducted with Steve Handell, the vocalist, lead guitarist, and, rhythm guitarist for the band 7th Calling, you can find the rest of the interview on this web site. The interview was followed by one of their songs. It rocked. Becka was dressed up like Peecachoo, from Pokimon, which drew her a lot of unwanted attention, like suggestions that they play tug of war, using the Peecachoo as the rope. There were segments of Movie Time, some TV programs were talked about as well. Some more of those "Shower Thoughts", from Tumblr, were read. And, Nathan announced that he has started a GoFundMe account to raise money for new and better equipment, so that the bands who perform here, when there actually is a band performing(!), will sound even better than they already do, thanks to his running it, say whatever else you will about him, and there is plenty to say(!), he is very good at that! So, this is a worthy cause, the link is, www.gofundme.com/lastexit if you can, donate whatever you can, every little bit helps, to a good cause! You'll also by doing so know you did something to help support local and independent music, by helping them to sound their very best! There was also a theme of summoning the rain since we have been going through a drought for the last few weeks...

May 8, 2016 - Olivia's Birthday

LE

This was Olvia from Undead Messenger's birthday show. We were joined by Nathan, Justin, Kevin, and Crappy the Clown in one of his persona's. Just Joe couldn't be here for whatever mysterious reason, so I (Azkath) decided to hypnotize Justin to see if I could make him Porno Justin. Unfortunately, and much to Kevin's delight, all Justin did when the Porn music kicked in was run around the building screaming about how happy he was that he was in Porn! He never did molest Olivia, as he was supposed to do. I did, however, add some other suggestions in. Since it was finals week for Cornell, and he is a Cornell student, I suggested that anytime he heard the word Final for the next week, he would fall to the floor for three seconds. Also, I suggested that everytime he saw a phone, he would say "telephone" nervously three times. This proved to be amusing to us, and sure to make for a confusing week for Justin. Justin did give Olivia a present... A Peppermint Kitty Stuffy, that he had mysteriously found stuck to his crotch. Azkath rubbed the snubbed present in her face. Despite this, she said that she felt like we didn't make her suffer enough on her birthday. Really? Ok. We brought out Dave's Beard, the duct taped beard from over a year ago that was ripped off Dave's face. Although Olivia managed to avoid it, her boyfriend Tim did not. Poor Tim. We also did a Tribute to 1987, which was the year Olivia was born.

February 28, 2016 - Finger Lakes Metal Fest Announcements

Last ExitPresent were, EVD, Nathan, Justin, AKA Twelve Inch, R.J., Olivia from the band Undead Messengers, Rick from "The Metallic Onslaught", and, Dave Henninger, formerly of the band Spater. Dave has a new band, Spit Nickels. A couple of songs of theirs were played, they rocked. Dave also is the founder of the annual Finger Lakes Metal Fest, which will be coming up in a couple months, in May. He talked about that, and we learned the lineup of all the bands who will be playing over the two day, free, event, three of which had members present here tonight, Dave's band, of course, Undead Messengers, and Thirteen South. R.J. took Nathan into the bathroom, and Nathan came back walking funny, waddling. Um, ok, I don't even wanna know about whatever went on in that bathroom! There was a set of comedy songs. There was music played off vinyl, both new and old. There was an extended Old School Hour, beginning at 2:00. And there were segments of Movie Time.
